Asking the right questions. SHL’s Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ) is one of the most widely-used and well-respected measures of workplace behavior styles in the world and is completed by over a million people annually. Its users include everyone from entry level to senior employees in essentially every industry — in the UK and internationally. Feedback from their clients and users, however, indicated that the experience felt monotonous, unintuitive, and out of date. In response, SHL partnered with Viget for the questionnaire’s first design update in over a decade. Our job was to take their scientific, laborious survey process of 100+ questions and, leveraging user testing and research, adapt the design and user flows for increased engagement and decreased time of completion.
Through rigorous user testing and human centered-design and animation, we transformed SHL’s flagship product, the Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ), into an engaging, modern experience for their one million+ annual international users.
