User Experience Designer Laura Sweltz joined Viget after completing a year-long State Department scholarship program in Stuttgart, Germany which included academic courses and an internship focused on user-centered design and usability. Laura initially became interested in UX during college when her job at the campus IT help desk exposed her to an endless stream of frustrated users. She decided to complete her BA in Multimedia Studies and build a career on making users happy. She is excited to work with the rest of Viget's UX team to design web products that create great experiences for the user.
A recent transplant to the DC area, Laura is still trying to figure out what's up with all the traffic, but has already fallen in love with the Smithsonian museums and the abundance of restaurants. Outside of the office, Laura enjoys traveling, theme parties, and breaking out her pipes for karaoke performances.
