At Viget our Brand Team is made up of creative problem solvers who think like strategists, write like copywriters, and design like art directors.
Our Brand Writers and Brand Designers are involved at almost every stage of a project’s development — from research, to strategy, to creative development, to testing.
We filter databases and write taglines. We pitch strategies and design logos. We build user testing intercepts and draft voice and tone guides.
And we're looking for a Brand Design Intern to join our team for the summer.
So are you a sharp strategic thinker who wants to learn how to turn those big ideas into a reality?
Or a fearless designer who wants to stop making work “pop” and start making work with purpose?
If so, we'd love to meet you.
You'll experience all aspects of a digital project by working with members of other discipline teams. You'll join client meetings to experience presentations and consultations firsthand. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to client work and internal Viget initiatives, and you'll meet regularly with your Advisor to discuss your progress on personalized learning goals.
The Basics
The internship program is offered at all four of our office locations (Falls Church, VA; Durham, NC; Chattanooga, TN; and Boulder, CO) with flexibility to WFH (Work From Home) some of the time.
The internship lasts 10 weeks, from June 5 to August 11.
Interns will be expected to work 40 hours/week (usually 9-5, M-F, but we can be somewhat flexible).
Relocation is not provided.
What We Look For (You may not have all of these, and that's okay!)
You’re smart. You can quickly understand complex subjects and have a knack for explaining them succinctly.
You are an amazing storyteller.
While not exactly a requirement, we'd love to see relevant coursework in subjects like brand identity, strategic design, visual branding, concept development, and strategic and creative thinking. If you’ve studied IA/web design, that’s a bonus.
You’re a web person, and an early-adopter at that.
You’re organized. Good design is tight. Succinct. Logical. Structured. You reflect these qualities in your work habits.
You get things done. No matter what you're doing, you take pride in your work. You enjoy responsibility and you know that real effort pays off daily.
You are currently enrolled in college, preferably as a junior or senior. We also consider graduate students and recent grads in some cases.
You have top grades or a track record of success.
You have the permanent, legal right to work in the US. We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.
Benefits
We offer $550/week ($5,500/summer), paid monthly on a pro rata basis. Course credit is also an option.
We provide free coffee, soda, and snacks in the office.
We provide free lunch once a week to all staff (including interns).
We offer several opportunities to connect with coworkers each week, both in-person and virtually, including our weekly all-hands meeting.
You’ll experience Viget at its most vigorous by participating in summer activities, challenges, hang-outs, etc.
