Warren’s Blog Marked SXSW Design Finalist

FALLS CHURCH, VA – Web designer Samantha Warren's blog, BadAssIdeas, is a finalist in the South by Southwest (SXSW) Web Awards. Finalists in that category are, "Sites that revolutionize the power of publishing by providing regularly updated content of a personal or professional nature."

"SXSW and the community around it has been such an inspiration to me with many of the speakers being those whom I look up to, so this is very exciting," Warren said. "My blog is my personal hobby; it motivates me to keep up on trends, has helped me to grow as a writer, and opens up opportunities for me to connect with the community."

Warren decided to submit her blog for consideration under the thought, "I have nothing to lose." Her risk has paid off already, and regardless of whether she ultimately wins the category when awards are announced during the festival from March 7-11, 2008, she is confident that she'll find the same inspiration at this year's conference as she has at the two she's already attended.

"According to the site, SXSW 'celebrates the creativity and passion behind the coolest new media technologies.' Everything you see, everyone you meet, and all the stuff you learn helps to put the vastness of the web into perspective and inspires you to take advantage of the opportunities that it provides."
