Let’s Talk About:

Building with No Code, All Heart

By Gray Gill, Former Brand Writer

Paul and Marion Ramseur were pillars of the community of Kingstown, NC. Growing up, their daughter, Edna, observed how they would give away surplus produce from their garden to anyone in need. According to Edna, her mother would say, “If you close your fist, nothing can get out and nothing can get in. If you don't give, you can't receive."

That giving spirit inspired Edna to found the Paul & Marion Ramseur Foundation in 2021, as a way to honor her parents and carry on their legacy by using agriculture to help elevate, educate, and empower the people of Kingstown.

So far, they’ve started a thriving weekly farmers market, community garden, food pantry, and youth programs. But Edna and her staff had too much on their plate to even think about building a website for their organization.

There was virtually no existing content for us to work off of, but the Ramseur legacy and Edna’s vision for the foundation gave us plenty of inspiration to help design and build a website in a matter of six weeks.

This project was no code, all heart. We wanted to make sure the staff at P&M had a CMS they felt comfortable updating in between managing the market and dropping off food baskets to seniors. And ultimately, we wanted to honor the legacy of the Ramseur family and highlight the important work the foundation is doing today.
