Viget’s UX Researchers help clients understand and improve their users' experiences. Our findings inform the design of websites and digital products for clients that range from early-stage startups to established nonprofits and for-profits. As an intern, you'll learn about all aspects of the UX research process, including study design, data collection, and synthesis.
You'll experience all aspects of a digital project by working with members of other discipline teams. You'll gain valuable exposure to client projects and deliverables, join meetings, and experience client presentations and design consultations. And, throughout the program, you'll meet regularly with your Advisor to identify and make progress on personalized learning goals.
The Basics
The internship program is offered at all four of our office locations (Falls Church, VA; Durham, NC; Chattanooga, TN; and Boulder, CO) with flexibility to WFH (Work From Home) some of the time.
- The internship lasts 10 weeks, from June 5 to August 11.
- Interns will be expected to work 40 hours/week (usually 9-5, M-F, but we can be somewhat flexible).
- Relocation is not provided.
About You (You may not have all of these, and that's okay!)
- You have experience in design and/or research through related coursework.
- You’re familiar with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- You’d enjoy talking to real users and customers in order to understand their needs and motivations.
- You'd enjoy reviewing analytics data and identifying patterns in user behavior.
- You'd enjoy actively participating in and contributing to the creative process.
- You have good storytelling instincts. You can craft a compelling narrative that helps others understand what they need to know.
- You get things done and consistently meet deadlines. No matter what you're doing, you take pride in your work.
- You also take pride in listening, communicating, and collaborating exceptionally well.
- You're currently enrolled in college, preferably as a junior or senior. We also consider graduate students and recent grads in some cases.
- You have a track record of holding leadership positions, balancing school and work, or other equivalent examples of success.
- You have the permanent, legal right to work in the US. We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.
Benefits
We offer $550/week ($5,500/summer), paid monthly on a pro rata basis. Course credit is also an option.
We provide free coffee, soda, and snacks in the office.
We provide free lunch once a week to all staff (including interns).
We offer several opportunities to connect with coworkers each week, both in-person and virtually, including our weekly all-hands meeting.
You’ll experience Viget at its most vigorous by participating in summer activities, challenges, hang-outs, etc.
