It's no wonder Brian now finds himself working with computers after growing up around them. While earning his master's in Information Science at UNC Chapel Hill, he learned about interaction design, user experience, and database and web development. He loves that Rails encourages a "big picture" approach and is bringing that mentality to our Durham office, where he's helping us to build the next killer web app.
Brian, who blogs regularly at Web Side Attractions, has co-authored a research study, "Questionnaire mode effects in interactive information retrieval experiments," published in Information Processing & Management.
When he's not plugged in, Brian is probably being silly with his baby daughter or just spending time in the sun. He is fanatical about a few TV shows, especially "Lost" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and is also a huge movie buff. If there's any time left, Brian enjoys playing a good game.
